December 22, 2008Two Big Shows & Winter!
Last week was a blur. But a good kind of blur.
So, we flew into NYC last Monday and played a free, "secret" Holiday show, which was nothing short of an amazing experience. <sarcasm> We also did some pretty unusual and refreshing things that we've never done before...like went to Starbucks and H&M a lot </sarcasm>. But for real, we saw the big Christmas tree thing, and the Washington Square monument...which are two things we've always wanted to do. Story time: I saw a dog owner trying to detach his dog's tongue from a light post because apparently he licked it and it got stuck. The end. We flew back Wednesday and had a hometown show with Cartel on Friday, in Atlanta. Not to de-value the previous hometown shows we've played, but this one was on a completely different level. The crowd response, and excitement level was seriously off the chart. Plus, we missed our friends in Cartel quite a bit. I know it's cliche to say, but it was a pinnacle night for us and easily one of the best shows we've played in our careers. We'll remember that one for the rest of our lives. As for the future. well...we'll talk about that very soon. This entry is already three paragraphs longer than planned. Happy Holidays. Eat. Drink. Party. Love. Love. ![]() ![]() courtesy of Jade King

November 11, 2008End Of MFH Tour Summary
So we just wrapped up our tour with My Favorite Highway, and I couldn't
be happier with how everything turned out. Besides being great people,
those guys are absolutely amazing musicians, and I strongly encourage
every one of you to log into itunes and buy their record.
That being said, the tour definitely lead us to some interesting places. From the freezing cold snowy mountains of Pennsylvania to running into the most famous athlete in the world at a fraternity party, we definitely have alot of good memories from this tour. We have a TON of videos to post, so stay tuned for all of those. In general we have been working on a few very big things that hopefully we will be able to announce to you all soon. Keep your fingers crossed, it won't be too much longer. Stay safe and be good. We love you all more than you know. Andy 'Nothing's Bigger than Love'

July 23, 2008Lots Of Things & Stuff & Things & Stuff
SO! We recently posted a new demo titled, "Gone" on our Purevolume.com and Myspace.com pages and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive...so thank you guys for that. In addition to that, we also revealed a brand new myspace design, with new pictures, content, and a slew of other stuff... which is pretty exciting, and I hope you had the chance to check it out. We also reached 3,000,000 plays and 50,000 comments on Myspace... bottoms UP!!
With the recent changes, it should be pretty obvious to most that we are focusing our attention towards new material. We are currently in the planning stages of when and how to release the new music that we've been working on and we will have some very concrete information on that in the not-too-distant future. Songs are written, some things are recorded and it's reaching a point in time where we need to start determining a manner in which to release it all... we're super super super excited. Also, peep our myspace for new tour dates...a slew of others will be added shortly :) So. Dark Knight was awesome. Eh? Whenever someone famous dies tragically, the general public tends to inflate and exagerrate a lot of the person's career points (which is understandable when paying homage)...however, that was NOT the case with Heath Ledger, as Joker, in the movie. There isn't an ounce of credit he's received for this role that wasn't 100% deserving, in every way. He was absolutely incredible...flawless. Expect some more updates soon, and thank you guys. For everrrryyythingggg. eeeek! ![]()

April 20, 2008An Indian Named "Ana"
26 miles out of Muncie, IN.
we noticed in our last tour update, people were expressing how much they love our touring drummer Nick Scalise. let me tell you a little bit about nick: Back in the day he used to play in a crazy band named October Fall, they were on Fueled By Ramen...and they toured with a bunch of crazy famous people, like the pope and stuff. He likes wearing really short booty shorts on stage...so short that if you look close enough at his upper leg area you can probably see some objects flailing around. Also, he dances better than Sisqo and pounds the skins better than that White Stripes drummer chick. also, we would like to say apologize/thank Hellogoodbye for being cool with us storming the stage during their closing song last night. Forrest tossed Andy a microphone so i think they were cool with it...but we had an impulsive urge to jump their encore. also, sorry to the kids in the front row who we crushed when we dove. GO SPARTANS! by the way, i saw a little kid eat a piece of masking tape off of our merch table yesterday. kinda curious to know how that digested and made it's way out of his body today. good luck kid. holidayparade

Deer
michigan has a lot of cool stuff...like grass, and trees, and some
people here and there. tons of dead deer...we've counted 4 in the past
10 miles or so. yum. we play with Hellogoodbye and As Tall As Lions
tonight. pimp.
in between constant alergy attacks, kennys random stories about balding, and nick's overly tight boxer briefs that perfectly outline his... we've been having an amazingly enjoyable time so far and we are having the time of our lives. our tour with We Shot The Moon starts tomorow in Muncie, IN and we will be tossing a TON of tour videos up on our Myspace page. let's keep in touch, cool? ...make it 5 dead deer. 4/20- Muncie, IN 4/21- Metamora, IL 4/22- Akron, Oh 4/24- Rochester, NY 4/26- Boston, MA 4/27- Poughkeepsie, NY 4/28- Vienna, VA 5/1- Rockville Centre, NY 5/2 - Wilton, CT

February 16, 2008To Ya'll. From Yo Boiiiz
so, we've finished tracking our new acoustic EP, "To You. From Us", and
it will be released on March 25th through iTunes, our shows, and our online store... we're STOKED. also, holy effing crap... "The Foundry" in Joplin, MO is the best venue in the country, hands down. We played there last night, for the second time, for the opening night of our short tour with Forever The Sickest Kids and Powerspace...it was amazing. The venue has a skate park, full court backetball court, rock climbing wall, 16 Hd Tv's with Xbox 360s for each one (that's about $5000 worth of xbox 360s"), etc... sooooo sick. We hope to play there again really soon. You can check out the rest of the dates on our myspace page. -holla!day parade p.s. Blake Lively is a babe

February 6, 2008To You. From Us
"men go to far greater lengths to avoid what they fear than to obtain what they desire"
soooo... we will be releasing an acoustic EP titled "To You. From Us", sometime in mid-late March and we are practically recording it as I type this. Sunday was our first day in the studio and we recorded "Driving Away", it has a super chill feeling and consists of freaking mandolin... mandolins are pretty wonderful. We spent all day arranging the instruments and mapping out the overall direction that we wanted to take the song...we really couldn't be any happier with how it's turning out so far. This weekend, we will be throwing a party at the studio and recording the entire thing, and using bits and pieces of the "party noises/dialogue" in the acoustic version of "My Philosophy"... it should be really interesting and fun to say the least. Also, thanks to anyone who came to our sold out show with Cartel this past Saturday, February 2nd. I hope you guys enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. ![]() Andy and Will of Cartel, singing "Lose It"...thanks to anyone who made this an amazing night

Our friend Taylor sent us the following message on myspace about her friend Veronica, who passed away:
![]() There's a lot we could say about this message, and what it meant to us, but I wouldn't even know where to begin.

December 9, 2007The Golden Compass (possible spoilers!)
Greetings and Happy Holidays (uhhh clichÈeeeeeee! sorry bout that one…:-/)!
Yo so now that we are on buzznet, I just thought what the heck I’ll write something. So here’s the topic of the day. The Golden Compass. Oh and also Rhode Island definitely not being a road nor an island… but we will get to that. Maybe. Ok so back to the Golden Compass. There is apparently sooo much controversy about whether or not this movie is taking shots at religion or more specifically Christianity, but hey, I’m not here to talk about that today. You guys will have to go without my infinite wisdom on that subject and make your minds up about all that jazz yourselves. I believe in you. What I really want to say is that I thought the movie was lame. Yep, I said it. Nicole Kidman, what on God’s green parallel universe were you thinking? First, I’m not even sure it was her in the movie cause all I saw was a dizzying blur of gold, which was supposed to be her character, I think. But that aside, if it is her, laaaammmmmmeeeeeee Nicole! I don’t think its your fault though; they probably told you the movie was going to be scrait illin’ (which it kinda was with all the gold she was wearing), so I understand. As for the little girl actress, she was no Dakota Fanning, but her acting could semi-interest me in not falling asleep. But how typical and recycled is the story: “Oh I know what we can do, we can have this main character who thinks they are an orphan but later finds out that the enemy is actually their parent. Perfect!” Wow, I can feel the Force from here. Oh, and did anyone else notice that Gandalf is now a Polar Bear? Yes folks, Ian McKellen is the voice of the dethroned Bear King… er… yes… Bear King. Now don’t get me wrong, I usually love epic movies. Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter… love em all. But the Golden Compass seemed like “Hey we can take all of everyone else’s previous ideas for epics and put em in a hat, and then use the ones we pick out in a not-even-as-good-as-a-bad-back-massage kinda way!” Ok so maybe I’m being a little hard on the movie, but if you are gonna spend $200 million on a film, maaaaaaybe you should do something worth seeing. Ouch, too harsh again. Sorry. Um, Valient effort Chris Weitz (director), better luck next time? That was a bit nicer. Soooooo, does anyone agree with me? Disagree? Think I am the lame one for spending time actually writing about this movie? Lemme know… or just send a magical talking Polar Bear to my house to challenge me to one-on-one combat. (yeah it’s in the movie, that part was kinda cool… if you like watching those parts of video games that tells the background story, I know I do, cause those are kinda what the graphics in the movie are like.) :) -Michael
